Holland Green, Kensington
A high end complex of luxurious apartments in Kensington required the supply of wetroom drainage and waterproofing solutions into 134 bathrooms
The Challenge
Holland Green is a contemporary development of three new residential apartment blocks at the site of the former Commonwealth Institute on Kensington High Street, designed by OMA with Allies and Morrison. C P Hart were commissioned to deliver high end bathroom schemes and co-ordinate design concepts for the 54 large high tech apartments.
CCL Wetrooms were contacted by C P Hart to design and supply drainage solutions into 134 wetrooms within the luxury residential development. Each wetroom needed an appropriate linear drainage solution suitable for use on a solid floor. The drainage needed to be able to cope with high flow rates of up to 56 l/min, as well as complementing the stunning high end finishes of the individual wetrooms.
The Solution
CCL Wetrooms specified the installation of a Linear Screed Drain with a bespoke length Stone-infill Grill into each shower area. The Linear Screed Drain was positioned flush against the shower wall and installed with either a single or double trap capable of coping with flow rates of up to 56 l/min. A stunning Stone-Infill Grill enabling the insertion of a natural stone tile into the grill frame, was the perfect grill finish to complement the contemporary tiling in each of the wetrooms, whilst providing an effective drainage solution.
To waterproof the floors and walls of the wetrooms, CCL Wetrooms recommended the installation of Tilesafe to the floor and wall junctions within each shower area and across the entire floor area, finishing 75mm up the wall/floor junctions
Flexible Wall Membrane (FWM) was then applied full height to the shower wall, linking to the Tilesafe to prevent any water penetration into the adjoining apartments.
