Barratt London's stunning development of apartments required the supply and installation of wetrooms onto screeded floors.
The Challenge
Blackfriars Circus is a luxury apartment development consisting of 336 homes – studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments & penthouses. Located in Central London in prime Zone 1 location, all homes in the Delphini Apartments and Conquest Tower have a winter garden or outdoor space and are built around two new public squares. Amenities on-site include a 24 hour concierge service, fitness suite & event space on the 27th floor of Conquest Tower.
Wetrooms UK were contacted by Logistical Building Services (LBS) to supply and install wetroom solutions for 148 wetrooms into the luxury development of apartments. The wetrooms of varying sizes needed appropriate waterproofing solutions suitable for use on screeded floors.
The Solution
Wetrooms UK specified the installation of a Linear Screed Drain with waterless trap and Stone-Infill Wall Grill into the apartments and penthouses within the complex. As an alternative method to forming falls in the screed, Wetrooms UK installed a High Build Latex and Tapered Board System (HBL-50 & Linear Screed Dec) to create a consistent wetroom gradient in the wetroom floor.
To complete the waterproofing, RIW Tilesafe waterproof membrane was applied to the floor and wall junctions within the shower area and across the entire floor, finishing 75mm up the wall/floor junctions. Flexible Wall Membrane (FWM) was applied to 2.2m high on the shower walls, linking onto the Tilesafe to complete the tanking solution.
