As part of the ongoing quality control processes required for the Linear Screed Drain and Modular Wet Floor Waterless traps to achieve BBA certification, each waterless trap undergoes a rigorous air pressure test before leaving our purpose-built product testing facilities in Hook.
The process involves connecting the spring-loaded trap to the pressure testing pumps and applying 100mm h20 of air pressure to the trap for five minutes. For a trap to pass the air pressure test, it must drop no lower than 80mm h20 within the timeframe. The test provides an accurate representation of the water pressure that the trap will be exposed to within a typical wetroom situation.
Upon successful completion of the air test, each trap is connected into a drain body and an inspection number is issued & applied to the trap. This allows the trap to be traced through every stage of the drain’s manufacture and installation. Finally, the floor brackets and grill base are connected to the drain body, ready for storage within the warehouse prior to despatch.
